For ways on improving my characterization of Roxy Lalonde, please send me a comment here! If there are mannerisms or quirks I focus too much on or not enough on, let me know. Or if there is anything you flat out just do not like, feel free to send it my way! :)

(Anonymous) 2012-11-18 01:55 am (UTC)(link)If you go back and look, it's canonly stated here (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=006377) that roxy is "pretty secretive about [her] writing." It also says, "You enjoy writing FANPROSE FOR SAID MAGICAL MEN, but you think maybe it's NOT SO GREAT." (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=006364), portraying that Roxy is horribly embarrassed by her writing, particularly when she has to live under the shadow of her mom's great works.
However, the way you have depicted Roxy in this scenario goes completely against what is canonly stated. She seems too willing to share her work. Sure, she can be a proud woman, but she's highly critical of her writing and think of her writing as her deep dark secret that nobody is ever allowed to see.

Roxy has been shown to be secretive of it and thinks it's not great from that point in her canon. I understand that a girl has gotta have her secrets!
Roxy has been in Holly Heights for close to 6 months now? I believe she could have gained the confidence to showcase her work. She has developed a lot in her time here, opening up about a few things that are private (her feelings on certain people for example), so I feel it is absolutely realistic for her to be proud of something. It may not be "canon" but it is plausible here, in Holly Heights. It was stated in the post it was for "Thanksgiving", something Roxy isn't familiar with! I view it as a kind of ballsy move for her.
I appreciate the feedback and I will try and continue to have her be a bit hesitant and critical of her work (in this thread at least). I understand your concerns and I will hopefully be able to balance the critique and my personal view on this!
